Winterlude
Well it is that time of year again, Winterlude in Ottawa. Every year on the first three weekends of February, wh host a winter festival. Sometimes when mother nature plays, we natives call it Waterlude.
The highlight for most tourists is skating on the Rideau Canal. My personal favorite are the ice and snow sculptures. I head out to see the ice scultures around 11:00 pm to avoid all the crowds so I can get some decent pictures.
If you have never been to Ottawa, and you like winter, now is the time to visit. While you are here, you have to have one of the famous Beaver Tails.(fried dough in the shape of a beaver tail and sprinkled with varous toppings, my personal favorite, cinnamon and sugar). |
